The Schœnenbourg fortification, or Ouvrage de Schoenenbourg, is a fortified structure on the Maginot Line, located on the border between the communes of Hunspach and Ingolsheim, in the Bas-Rhin department.
It is a large artillery structure, comprising eight blocks. Built from 1931 onwards, it was slightly damaged by the fighting in June 1940, then by German sabotage in 1945, before being repaired at the start of the Cold War. It is the largest structure on the line open to the public in Alsace, and is listed in its entirety in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments, with all its original elements.
