Kaysersberg

Pass through Ingersheim, Katzenthal, and Ammerschwihr to reach Kaysersberg. Albert Schweitzer's native village, it was also named the French people's favorite village by the show in 2017. Quickly venture towards the center. Le Chambard is a "Winstub" or gourmet restaurant and can be a good option for lunch.

Riquewihr

Continuing to Riquewihr, there's no doubt about it: you're definitely on the Wine Route! This charming medieval village, with its pedestrianized historic center, almost feels like you've stepped back centuries. You enter and exit the village through a gate. Stroll through the streets of this picturesque village and grab your camera.

Ribeauvillé

Ribeauvillé is one of our favorites. The village's historic streets still have a special atmosphere. Here too, you'll step back in time! The village offers many events throughout the year and an interesting range of entertainment (cinema, swimming pools, etc.). In the historic center, several interesting options are available for lunch, dinner, or a delicious homemade ice cream!

The Wine Route and its villages

Accueil > Activités > The Wine Route and its villages

Bibala takes you on a typical day in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. A leisurely journey that can be completed in just a few hours or while savoring every moment. Take a stroll through the village streets and don't hesitate to enter the open cellars to enjoy a tasting or purchase a bottle.

Warning: during the Christmas season, these villages are adorned with decorations and completely transformed. But between the medieval Christmas markets and entertainment, they are often very busy. Parking is difficult, if not impossible. You can go there in the morning (but it's a shame for the lights and the magical atmosphere) and, above all, find an efficient means of transportation.

Eguisheim

Start by visiting Eguisheim, voted the French people's favorite village since the show's second broadcast on France 2 in 2013. With its narrow streets, it may well be the birthplace of Pope Leo IX.

Turckheim

Then head towards Turckheim, making sure to pass through Wettolsheim and Wintzenheim, two small, typical villages. Turckheim is one of 15 villages in Europe (2 in France) to perpetuate the tradition of the night watchman. From May 1st to October 31st at 10 p.m., this man in costume makes his rounds. It's unlikely you'll see him during the day, but you can sense his presence throughout the village.

But the reason we're "taking" you to Turckheim is for its Memorial Museum of the Battles of the Colmar Pocket. Here's a bit of history about these events that had a profound impact on Alsace.
